48-52 Replacement Radiator Information
I got my new radiator Saturday. It is a Transpro Ready-Rad Heatbuster number 43 6001 (replacement for Chrysler industry model 1583). The application is for a 72-79 Dodge Pickup Truck HD 3 row without A/C. I found it on Ebay new for $159 plus $15 S&H. This radiator fits within the confines of the stock core support with just slight trimming of the stock brackets and drilling a few new holes. The upper radiator outlet in on the driver's side and the bottom outlet is on the passenger side. I thought I'd pass this along to any of you thinking about using an OEM replacement radiator instead of spending the big bucks for a custom Walker or similar. I still do not know for sure how well it will cool my truck but since it is made for a Dodge truck with a V8, I do not anticipate any problem cooling my small block engine.
