Removing fuel filter??

I'm trying to change my fuel filter on my 96 F-150 4x4. Do I need a special tool for this? I bought a new Fram filter that came with 2 plastic wedge/clips. Are these removal tools? Thanks for any help...

The clips should be replacement clips for installation. The tool is in the "Help" section and is necessary, it's about $3.98.

You won't use the plastic clips, just the removal tool. The plastic clip are for retaining the filter in the years before the spring release.
