Guys, Take a look at this ad I found on E-bay. This guy is nuts. I edited it a bit, (only bolded and underlined the ridiculous) I told him this was basically impossible, if someone knows otherwise, I'm going to start working on one right away! Take a look at the ad in E-bay motors "parts cars" search "diesel"
Mike
up for auction is a 1979 ford f150 it has 3/4 ton suspension in the back and 1 ton suspension in the front to hold up to the weight of the heavy motor, the truck is 4x4 and nothing is wrong with the 4x4 at all,it has a inline 4 cyl. perkins 147 diesel motor out of a massey fergusin tractor in it,it also has a turbo on it,with the turbo it puts out about 350 horses to the back tires wich is a lot of torque for a diesel,it has a 8'bed from a 81 ford truck so the grooves from the cab to the bed dont exactly match up perfect, the pass. side fender well on the bed has rust on it i have a pic if you need it,the pass.side door has a place pulled out on the front of it that hits the fender when u open the door(no dents on the fender) i also have pics of that if u need them,it does have an oil leak somewhere that is not bad at all u can see the oil on the motor but i have never had 2 add any,the brakes are good, one of the steering parts needs a bolt on it the steering is kinda sloppy wich is a common ford problem in older trucks.the interior is in pretty good shape but just needs a good cleaning, its about time for the oil 2 be changed again, this truck will run along 85 and 90 on the highway with the best of them,it gets about 50 miles to the gallon no joke!! this truck is very very powerful i have never been in anything as powerful as this truck! a friend of mine has an 03 superduty powerstroke v8 diesel and i know for a fact my truck would outpull his,i believe it has a 9" rearend not sure what gear ratio. all 4 tires are undersized for the truck they have about 40% tread left it comes with a spare wheel and tire. last winter after an ice storm my wifes grandpa was pulling a car out with it,and put it in reverse before the tires stopped spinning in drive and sheared the bolts off of the adapter plate that sits between the torque converter and the flywheel so it wont let the torque converter turn which means when u put it in drive it wont go anywhere u can see through the access panel that is what happened, the adapter plate is 40 bucks at auto zone,so if u know how 2 do it it would be a cheap fix,it has a auto. ford c6 tranny in it when this truck was put together it was sent off to london to be ported and bored and completely rebiult and gone through to have more fluid flow and to be able to hold up to the torque of this powerful motor it also has a very expensive torque converter that is built up in some way for the same reason,it has a new 350 chevy alternator on it and a international ac compressor there isent a belt running to the ac compressor right now but it does work,it would be a perfect truck for tractor pulls. it has been to california and north dakota pulling trailors several times.this truck does have a clear ohio title in my name and ready to be signed over,i really hate to sell this truck but i am looking for a mustang so i need the money for that.the back bumper is kinda pulled down because we used the truck twice to pull a 14x70 trailor and it never had a bit of trouble pulling it at all u bearly even knew it was back there.i have more pics just ask for them sorry i dident wash it.i may accept trades or partial trades for atvs mustangs trucks etc.if you would like to make offers please email me at JUSTINS_ALWAYS@YAHOO.COM NOT By ASK SELLER QUESTION. thanks and happy bidding

He responded to me finally, basically, he said that I must be jealous because his truck would kick my truck's "hinder parts". I also gave him the link to this site so that he could see that I wasn't the only "jealous Ford Truck Owner" w/an "underachieving wuss truck". All I know is that I have a great deal of respect for almost all of the people who post here, and when someone is off base, there is always a much more senior user that knows the truth.
I like the part about being able to go down to auto zone and buy an adapter for a perkins diesel to a C6. I would be impressed if that put out 100 horsepower let alone 350.
Allmost all the bids are from the same guy, who doesn't seem to be any brighter than the guy selling this pile.
The inline perkins motors were never very strong, even with a turbo. I doubt it would put up 350 lb ft of torque, but I could be wrong. Anyway you go about it, it isn't something I would even want to play with just for giggles.
I told my dad about this truc ad and he lauged pretty good. Especially the part about the 14 x 70 trailer (near the end of the ad) "that you could hardly tell was back there". He's been driving a semi for 40 years and all he could muster through the laughing was, "check the mirror, maybe its not!"
Yeah, I noticed that on the bid history the same guy be 60+ of the 75 bids. I hope he is satisfied with the truck.
We had Massey Fergeson farm tractors. Those 4 cylinder Perkins diesels were more on the order of 65 to 75 HP, the turbo ones were in the 100 to 125 range.
I do know the Perkins does make some huge engines that are on the order of 2500 HP, but I don't think that a F150 frame will hold one up.
For that matter I do not think a 150 frame will hold a 14x70 trailer up either.
What a load of BS. Yeah, Its gotta Perkins alright, looks like the one in my skidsteer. Gutless Edited is what that engine is. Theres no way it could turn over the rpms to do 80. It always makes sense that a 4 cylinder turbodiesel makes more power than a 8 cyl turbo diesel.
Speaking of 4 cylinder diesels. Does anyone know how to turn up the pump on a Izuzu diesel in a 82 Chevy LUV?

If he can outpull an 03 PSD, I think he'd need something more than a 9" rear... Notice his little "typo" with the HP and torque. He first says 350 hp and then says thats a lot of torque for a diesel. hmm... probably meant torque on hte first one too. Or maybe he doesnt know the difference...
That 14x70ft trailer must be a custom job, eh?
I've got two Massey Ferguson tractors w/ Perkins diesels here on the farm, granted their not turbo'ed but the 4 cylinder Perkins is only 55 hp and the bigger 6 cyl. Perkins is only 85 hp!
I also noticed the 350 horses and that thats alot of torque for a diesel. Someone outta show him a dyno card of the superduty putting out 600 lbs torque!
