Polyurethane vs Aluminum leveling kits
Hello Everyone,
I have a 2004 Ford Super Cab Lariat 4x4 and was wondering which of these kits you have and how you like it so far?<O</O
I have wanted to lift the front end since I got the truck and plan on ordering a kit next week. Also I want to install an exhaust system. Any suggestions on this will be greatly appreciated.

It was pretty easy for me to decide....truck weighs 5000 lbs...i figured that the metal spacers from Autospring and the lack of need to compress some really big springs to put em on were enough of a benefit to make them my choice. Plastic spacers and the need for a giant spring compressor were enough of a deterrent to steer me clear.

If you want loud exhaust you're going to want a Flowmaster. Magnaflow is a little quieter but supposedly flows a little better, and Gibson flows well and is quiet. I've heard one Borla on a 5.4L and it sounded more like a Mustang than a truck - if a more racing/rod sound is what you're looking for, look at the Borla.
I have a Flowmaster Original 40 muffler dumped under the bed of my truck in front of the rear axle. The sound is very loud, and stays deep throughout the RPM range. It only gets throaty when I punch it. There's a lot of resonance in the cab, mostly because its dumped, but thats the way I like it. As far as differences in power, stock I could not chirp my tires, and I can now with the exhaust addition. Also, throttle response is improved, and it feels like the engine breathes a little better now. I've also gained a bit in MPG - I won't know exact numbers until I fill up again.

I got it from E-bay---think it was $109 which included shipping. Had it installed at the dealership where I bought the truck (another dealer closer refused citing "safety"...I think he was mad he didn't get the sale previously). The install cost me $100 for labor and $50 for an alignment---money well spent. I've had 0 problems with it in the 5 months it's been installed. I'm not sure if they re-aimed the headlights or not...The angle is the same as a fully loaded truck without the lift kit, and no one has flashed me at night, So I am not gonna worry about it either way.

Spacer: I went with the Autospring 2.5" simply due to the ease of install/removal(if needed) and price. I also enjoy the facotory ride quality and only wanted to level the truck. The install was easy and I have no regrets.
Exhaust: I went with Flow original 40 w/dual 4" tips. I love the sound and combined with the Air raid MIT/K&N filter I've gained an additional 2mpg.
