Hey Gordo, I see you are an Aussie. How much are they sticking you guys for gasoline over there? Up till lately Americans have had it pretty good as far as fuel cost. Less than 10 years ago you could find gas for less than $1 gal. I never though I would see the day of $2 gal. Now thats a good deal. Mental conditioning of the people I think. There is talk of $3 gal soon. Hey that makes $2 gal. a real good deal. Get my drift anyone?

Right now the *******s are getting $3.25 a gallon out of us. The same people are conditioning us buy saying that it will be $5.00 a gallon by the end of the yaer so if it goes to $ 4.00 we will think we are getting bargain!! They keep saying its because of the rampant chinese economy!! Why do we have to pay through the nose just cause the chinese are willing to pay anything for fuel because they are so inefficient. Same reason why you cant buy any locally made goods anymore cause their workers will work for a bowl of rice every week. Sorry for the rant but my fuel bill went up from $2500 to $6000 per year last year, and I'm just a small contractor with two trucks and a tractor trying to scratch a living. Maybe I should giveup and grow rice

I wonder a lot if either of our countries haver ever had the thought that you can't turn all your towns into ghost towns in order to get the rich richer. There are whole populations of what used to be middle class working families who relied on local production to survive. Now that is gone. Don't they know that many towns are there only because of the industry that USED to be there.

All to keep the likes of caring folks like Sam Wallton or whoever owns Wally World rolling in dough. So many good folks and towns on the skids for YOUR SHOPPING CONVIENIENCE! It seems in America we have a little document made before the days of mass corporate greed and government corruption that begins with "We the people."
It bothers me that we, the people, seem so willing to sit back and let it go on.

I think part of the American dream is oportunity. The oportunity to securely raise a family and educate children through hard work. Or at least work. I dont think the dream is about selling what your country was built on through outsorceing jobs to cheap foriegn labor. This country never in modern times had the problems that have been generated by trade in foreign goods. I had no idea that this malignancy has found its way to other countries like Australia. Sometimes I think that those in charge want to eliminate the middle class. Only rich and poor. Kind of closer to a slave/master thing than with the pesky middle class involved.

God Bless America (and everyone else)
