6.7 mpg

Just wondering what all of you are seeing for miles per gallon? I have a 2003 7.3 Powerstroke and average 16.5mpg, with a high of about 17.5mpg.

So far, about 1700 miles, I am averaging around 16 mpg, and a max of hwy miles at 18 mpg. My 7.3 with an economy chip averaged 20 mpg with mostly hwy miles under 65 mph.

Barko4 If I run at 80 mph for extended distances. I avg 18.0- 18.5 mpg. On the occasional trip when I stay 65 mph for a couple hundred miles, I've gotten 22 mpg. But that is rare.

Towing, is 10.5 to 11 mpg pulling a 13,000 lbs gooseneck

16 mpg overall average mixed city/highway - hand calculated (total miles driven divided by total gallons used). Gets about 9-11 towing 14,500 pound toy hauler. Truck is a 2012 4x4 SRW LB with 3.31 Rear axle.

So much depends on where you are. In the mountains or the Kansas flats? Empty stock single cab or loaded down lifted big tires? Etc.

If Dodge is making any claims, it's best possible circumstances on their half ton, not the big trucks.

That is their 3.0 Ecodiesel built by Fiat in their 1500 trucks. The 6.7 Cummins aren't getting that mileage.

I'd be willing to bet their ecodiesel doesn't get 29mpg either.

remember that Dodge can't tow or haul very much either. It is a 1/2 ton was no payload due to the motor.

I have gotten 18.5 on a empty run recently to northern NJ and back. Pretty good for a 4x4 DRW if you ask me.

Towing is always around 10 due to the heavy 5th wheel.

I average almost exactly 17 MPG with mine. I find a huge factor in mine is the wind. Driving into even a moderate wind will really drop my MPG in a hurry.

Yeh!.. these big flat fronts are good wind catchers for sure.

Straight open road, no city, I'm at 20 to 21+mpg.

Running around with some stop and go, been anywhere between 14.4 -17 but normally ~16.

With the old and taller 5er, 12mpg, the new foot lower one is 13+ even though it is over 6' longer and 2500# heavier.

With the 14E03 reflash, so far the mpg seems 1-1.5 mpg better, but time will tell later when it gets warmer and I can drive more.

Unfortunately that mpg is far from the cost of driving these 'beasts' with $110 thirteen quart oil changes, 5 gallons of DEF ($25 @ Walmart) every 5K miles, $150 fuel filters (all if you don't/can't do the maintenance yourselves). You buy these trucks for one of two reasons - 1) you need 400Hp/800# tq to pull something heavy, or, 2) you just want a diesel truck

Oh my goodness!!! Those prices are crazy, sorry you have to pay that much. I just got a motorcraft fuel filter kit from Advance Auto for about $65, 2.5 gallon of blue DEF at W-Mart is $11 or $2.30 a gallon at the pump, oil filter 2051-S at W-Mart is $15, and gallon jugs of T-6 Rotella (what I use for oil) are $19. These are prices here in North Eastern NC. I hope you can find better prices than what you posted.

Realistically I see 17.5-18 mpg highway and 15.5-16.5 running around town. Still far better than the 6.2 I had before. I don't have one of those magical 20+mpg trucks either...
