Put a couple new pics in my gallery of my old truck. Started primering the scratches and stuff and figured might as well do the whole thing - looked silly polka-dotted.
OOPS! Somehow posted this one in the wrong forum, already posted 'Cheap paintjob'. Oh well, thanks for the compliments anyhow.
The tach didn't work when I bought it. Opened it up and the guts were sprung, so I fitted a little electronic mini tach inside it. Works great, but is 500 to 1,000 RPMS off at 3800. I'm not racing it or anything though, so I'm not too concerned about it.
I'm real proud of the dash btw. Took awhile to piece it together. I'm still looking for a clock to match to put in the other side.
I have the same tach on the way to me... How would an original one hook up? There is an illustration of the tach in my shop manual but I can't find anything about how it is connected. Does it run off of the coil like an aftermarket one would or would there already be something in the harness already?
Thanks
BTW the gauges I am getting have a vacuum gauge there on the other side
