injector orings ?
got a 7.3 2000 c/cab diablo chip , open element intake , c.c.v. mode tied into exhaust pipe , no cat or muff , straight pipe , auto matic
the blue smoke is what iam concerend about
on heavy acelleration i get black blue smoke and black blue smoke on deacelleration enouhgt to leave a trail for about 30 ft
doesnt smoke on light aceleration or deacelleration
and doesnt smoke while idealing or at a steady cruizing speed
last december i chaneded to sythic mobile 0w - 35w
oh 75,000 miles on truck just started tyo do this about 2 weeks ago
and is using some oil
any help would be apereacated
I believe your blue smoke may be from that ccv into the exhaust mod you've made. Does it smoke blue when you first start it, or after the exhaust is nice and hot? If it's at startup.....I'd say you might have some oil leaking down into the chambers maybe from leaking "O" rings. There will be some other views along here shortly.
well both
on a cold start blue smoke for a minuite or two then stops doesnt smoke blue until you hammer the throttle down and even moderate throttle
if your easy on the throttle no blue smoke
and if you lay it to the floor and let up right away blue smoke on deaceleration
by the way 4000 miles on existing oil
i had the ccv mod done last jan never smoked then
In my humble opinnion....you may have some "O" ring issues. First thing I'd do would be to take a look at my fuel filter. If it is either black or blue in color... you've probably got some "O" rings leaking.

Had to laugh, a black and blue filter? Sounds like it got into a bar fight!
I agree with you though, sure sounds like the edge is getting torn on one of the o-ring. Full throttle = high HPOP pressure and more oil squeezing past into the diesel part of the injector cup and then getting injected.
well that was quick
fuel filter clean , no black and blue
just curious why would fuel filter change color thier is no return from fuel rails it is dead ended on both rails
i will order some injector orings and replace them maybe i will change out the glow plugs too well hell while i am at it throw in a wicked wheel also
i should have left the hood shut end never opened it damit to hell
no just kidding
found a oil leak coming from that drian hole on top of engine in back on passenger side
its not coming from vavle covers so i would think that it is the turbo pedistal
leaking no oil on the waste gate eithier
well it looks like i'am in for some knuckel busting tool wrenching of a time
well when i get all the orings
went for a drive blue smoke is getting werser it is starting to blow blue smoke all the time now and i noticed oil on the end of tail pipe. OUCH !
well got all 8 injetor orings repalced ordered my gtp 38r turbo (ouch!)
found out today that they were sold out and wont have any until tuesday wich means i might get it next fri april 30 if iam lucky
damit that pisses me off
good price thought 1595 well thier goes my shed to keep my toys out of the garage
well two week later my turbo showed up
got her installed fired her up
went for a drive all sighns of blue smoke gone , oil leaks gone , turbo stall and surge gone , flutter gone
that gtp 38r turbo really whines with the open element and with the exhaust before back wheel sounds pretty awsome
now i need to find a relief vavle
one other question when the 7.3 defuels what exatly happens does it restrict the flow of fuel or drop the fuel pressure when i am pushing 30 # boost i cant feel it defuel any insight on this thanks
touchofgrey thanks
i will have to get a relief valve and see if i notice any changes
iam thinking my chip is programmed not to defuel engine( diablo sport )
