I have a Banks "Air Ram" filter setup. Goes into the Ford air box and has a flat K&N filter. This was on the truck when I bought it. Being an avid reader of the forum, my question is this a good setup? Any thing I can do to make it better without dismantling, or is it good enough as is?

The K&N flat filter has had some sealing problems around the outside gasket of the filter in some air boxes. A light film of petrolium jelly or common grease applied to the gasket may help.
What you want to look for: check to see if you are getting any fine dust in the intake tube going to the turbo. If you are.....then you've got a leak. You will see a light film of oil in there.....that's from the EGR that is plumbed into the intake, and is common on stock trucks. But there shouldn't be any dirt. Hope this helps.
