91 f-150 help???

91 f-150 help???

i have a 1991 f-150 ext cab and the computer has gone bad...my problem is that when i removed the one in the truck it had already been replaced by a aftermarket one with no ford numbers on it in fact no numbers of any kind. I called the local parts store and they said it could be one of five they have in stock but i dont want to keep buying them till i get the right one..any ideas? it is a ext cab lariet if that helps with the inline 300 and 5 speed trans thanx for any help

Call the dealer and give them your VIN. They can tell you the correct PCM code for it. I suggest getting one from Ford if you want to make sure it has a Ford PCM code.
