Wheel Spacers
Okay, here is what the issue is. I have a 1978 f-150 4X4. It appears to have a very small (2-3") life on it and it's running on top of 33X12.50R15's. When I turn the wheel more than 1.5 turns in either direction, the tires hit the radius arms. I'm sure you have all heard this noise before so I don't need to go into it any further.
I would like some ideas on how to fix this without actually replacing the radius arms with the inset type that comes with a larger lift. I was thinking about using wheel spacer, which would also give me a wider track. Have any of you used wheel spacers? Do they work? What is the "breakage" factor involved?
Thank you all in advance for taking a moment from your busy lives to help me out.
Not sure what else you can do other than change your wheel/tire combo to one that fits correctly. This is always the safest, best way to do things.
You're bets bet is to get the right wheels for the truck with less offset. In the meantime, you can adjust the stop bolts on the spindle to keep the wheel from turning that far.
