Noise reduction?

Hi guys,
I have a newly-acquired 1997 F250 crew cab 4x4 PSD, that I bought primarily to pull a big boat with. Truck is totally stock, 120,000 miles and in good to excellent condition.

Is there any easy way to make it quieter on the highway? When cruising at 70mph (about 2000 rpm) it's a bit noisy inside the cab - mostly a combination of engine noise, road noise and wind noise. Don't get me wrong here - I like the sound of a diesel engine as much as the next guy, but the wife says the noise gets to be a bit trying after a while on the road. And you know what they say, "If momma ain't happy...

Any suggestions to lower the interior noise level? Thanks in advance for your input. I've learned a lot about my truck from just reading the archives here.

new door gaskets will help with the wind noies... check your tires for "cupping" especially in the front.. if they "growl"... it can really get noisy...

Tires make a huge difference to noise levels. If your front tires are at all worn, consider getting a new set that is known for low noise. M/S and off-road tires are the worst. Highway tires generally make the least noise.

Get some acoustical shielding to cut down on engine and other noise.
