Well...i was standing on my side step of my 94 F-150 flareside and i jumped up and landed back on it and it broke...so now my side step on my drivers side hangs down and looks like crap...i looked under and the metal broke where it supported it...i drew a pic on paint of what it looks like haha...
Does anyone know if i can just weld those two breaks back?...the metal is kinda rusted and stuff too...has this happened to anyone yet too?
I have a 92 Flareside, and I've been looking for replacement mounting hardware for the side steps. My side steps are not broken or anything, it's just that the mounting hardware has some rust on it, and the metal tube on the passenger side has a rust hole in it. It's not really noticeable unless you look underneath the truck, but I'd like to replace the hardware anyways because the body of my flareside is in very nice condition and has no rust on it. Let me know if you're able to find any replacement hardware for the steps. I definetly don't want to put any aftermarket nerf bars or anything like that on my truck, as I'd like to keep it looking all original and nerf bars would not look right. The mounting hardware might still be available thru Ford, but as old as these trucks are, that's not very likely.
The body on mine is great too but underneath is pretty rusty under there, it's a shame that it looks so good but underneath is a different story. I like the looks of the factory steps but aftermarket ones espcially s.s. ones are built very good.
