I recently had bad upper and lower ball joints that made the front end shake. Jack up the front and grab the tire and lift up and down to see if you feel any movement. Don't pull and push by grabing the top and bottom, that won't work. You have to lift on the tire, at least thats how I was able to tell.
I don't know if the leak at the end of the axle is related but if your not handy working on cars take it to a shop. I replaced the ball joints myself with the use of me neighbors shop and his advise along the way. It required pulling the hubs and axle shafts which is the minimum that seals would require and I wouldn't want to do without being comfortable working on cars.
