I have a 2000 Ranger ex cab, stepside. I have noticed that when people do body lifts, it shows off the frame quite a bit! But I have never seen a ranger with one. I have seen pictures, and it doesnt look as bad as most trucks. Do Rangers look okay with a body lift? Or, if I did it, would it drive me nuts?
The cheapest way to "bridge the gap" is lawn edging. It's black plastic can be easily bent to follow your frame and nobody looking from a couple feet away will be any the wiser.
Performance accessories (who sells the bodylift) also sells 'gap guards'. It's black rubber that covers the gap in front and back, makes a huge difference. I put a 3" bodylift on my ranger and love it, and I'm really picky about how my truck looks, wouldn't have it without gap guards though. The only thing I wish I had were some steps or something to hide the frame a little on the sides. Look in my gallery for a few (okay a bunch) of pictures of my truck with the bodylift and 33" tires.

how much rubbing do you get with 33 x12.5 tires? What size rims? I want to do a body lift to mine and put 33", but I didn't think I would be able to go 12.5 wide. Everything I have read says you need 6" of lift to clear those tires.
I cranked the torsion bars about 2 inches and put a add-a-leaf in the rear and my friends 33"x12.5x16 fit with only a litttle rubbing on the front mud flaps and plastic guard under the bumper.Im putting a 3" body lift on next thursday (so a total of 5" inches) and am hoping to fit 35"x11.5" tires. I hope it works out, if not, 33's will fit nice!
tbiker99, I don't have any rub whatsoever with 33x12.50's. The wheels are 15x8's. You would probably rub some with 15x10's. By the way, I still have factory mudflaps and everything, I can flex offroad (even with swaybars disconnected) and still no rub anywhere. When I first put the gapguards on, the front tires would rub them at full lock, just trimmed a small piece off and all is good
