Winter rough idle...
I have an 86 F250 351w H.O. C6. All summer it starts and runs fine. Then as soon as it drops below 45 degrees and gets damp I have trouble with the idle. It'll start up and run fast idle fine for about 5 minutes, then when it drops down it starts to spit, choke, and stall out at every light. I literally have to ride the brake and accelerator at the same time to keep her running. After heating up, and even after she's been left sitting after she's heated up, the truck runs fine. Put new dis cap and wires on it and made sure the heat riser to the air cleaner is fine, so I'm lost. It has the original Holley Carb and Ignition module, could these be the problem? Sure apreciate the help, this is annoying!!!!

Special k, did you check the plugs? Rotor? Normally, when the ignition mod goes, the motor will not run. Is the coil on the truck old or original? A weak coil can sometimes give you problems when the weather get tough. I would check these before you go to the carb. Good luck.

Since this problem occurs only during cold weather and high humidity, your carb could be icing-up.Check your thermostatic air cleaner, make sure vacuum lines and hot air supply to air cleaner are working. I have an '85 F250/460 was having same problem. Hope this helps.
