I was looking through the picture gallery the other day and a Mercury pickup caught my eye. I've never seen one before, I understand they were built in Canada. Do they still build Mercs up there ? If not what year did they quit ?
Thanks in advance

Ive seen a few of them & they were only made in Canada . Im not 100% sure , but I think either 1970 or 1971 was the last yr they were produced . They were the same as the Fords except for the name & different grills & maybe some other minor details .
They made those Mercury trucks from the late 40's/early 50's up into the early 70's. Basically, they are the same as the Fords, with different chrome trim and the "M" nomenclature instead if the "F" i.e. M-100 instead of F-100. I think these trucks are very appealing for collectability. Of course, we don't see many of them down this far south (North Carolina). I know one thing for sure, I sure would like to have one!! Go into the Classifieds here and check out the '61-'79 area. Seems I remember seeing a Unibody Merc for sale in there only a few days ago. The ad also had a picture of the truck. Check out that tailgate!! That "Mercury" script on there sure looks odd, doesn't it? It wouldn't look nearly as odd setting in my driveway ::-):
A friend of mine wo is into '65 Fairlanes big time has a 1967 M-100. Check it out on the following site. When you get to the site, scroll down on the left until you get to '67 Mercury Truck or Pickup, click on it and let your eyes feast. I have seem this ride and riden in it. It is an awesome looking truck.
