Not so horny
Hi. I have an 1984 F250 4X4 with a 6.9 engine. My problem is the horn is wimpy. I have to roll the window down to hear if it's working. I replaced the single horn with a high/low set (2 horns). It didn't help. I notice that trucks of this age, without cruise control, don't have horn relays. Would it do any good to add a relay? If not, then what? People just laugh at me when I honk at them. Squirrels too. I want their eyes to pop and their mouths to drop. Just kiddin'. It's not much of a safty device. Thanks.

im thinking 2 sets of 2 tone semi air horns mounted right on the top of the cab. or you could just do a single air horn. i think the one we put on our old gmc was 25 bucks. that sucker was loud.

Hey Marty. I thought you might like to know, I checked the voltage at the horn and it was the exact same as the battery. So I cleaned all the connections and added the original horn back in and with the high/low/Ford trio it's much louder (with a sound that's a little hard to discribe other than, one of a kind).
