fuel tank question?
I've been reading a little bit about some problems with the fuel tanks on the 99 thru 03 super dutys... something about the fuel pickup and return introducing air to the fuel system. Has anyone tried the repair kit sold for this? Is this really a problem? Has anyone gotten better milage and smoother running after retrofitting thier tank or is this a non-issue. I will be more than happy to fix this on my truck if it is truely a problem. If This has been covered in a prevous post... please excuse me...I didn't see it. Thanks

There are several systems available for our trucks. The in tank mod is the one for the fuel pickup. You can also get a regulated return kit that gets rid of the dead head in the fuel rails.
Air in your fuel system causes the injectors to knock and over time can cause damage. Most people who have at least modified the fuel pickup have said their trucks don't clatter as much. It's one of the mods on my list to do.
