Just picked up my new truck. 2005 F350, 4X4, cc, LWB, XLT, V10, Auto, Black with Silver. Researched this truck for six months on this forum before I ordered. Thanks to eveyone, especially Fredvon4. I was very happy with my 2000 (basically the same truck) but this one is so much more. BSEG.
Jock
You guys have me on the fence on what to do when my lease comes up in 1.5 years. Get a new V10? Or a new Mustang?
So many choices...
art k.
On edit: congrats by the way!
HAHA, you and I are in the same boat, I can; keep my current van and buy a new Mustang. Or; buy a new (when it comes out) 3 valve V-10 in van or pick-up and shop around for a used Mustang, Cougar 4.6, Lincoln LS or something similar, or,,,,, it's darned confusing. My V-10 runs awesome, pulls my trailer with ease and is a kick to drive. I can't imagine it with another 100 hp, remember my 98 is not PI. Or, and this is a stretch, but, I buy a newer 4.6 Stang, mysteriously the motor blows, so the V-10 in the van has to come out to go in the Stang, whaddya think ? It's pretty common this swap, I like it.
I've got a '97 30th Anniversary in what they call Crystal White - very rare... Has the SC style seats, sport suspension, bigger brakes, etc. I understand the hankerin'... Consider finding a 30th Anniv, they came in deep maroon, and like three different whites - white ones are rare, like 300 or so made, but the maroon one is probably close in numbers.
PM me if you want to discuss that further, I've some experience with the MN12 platform.
Jock, well done, you got yourself a beauty. Black with silver is a classic and that big CC long box will tool around town like a dream because of the new tighter steering.
Enjoy your new truck, Wrench.
Yes yes, another happy member of the V10 club. Just the fact that the fender says V10 = bseg Like fred says, break her in right and just wait for the real bseg will kick in. Just another note for you on a experience the other day for me in my V10, Jock, the other day I was on a four lane divided road with numerous stop lights. I was driving my typical grandpa style driving. I dont push the ole V10 to much with these fuel prices. I my mirror is could see this Dodge Ram. He was changing lanes frequently. He finally made his way up to me. We were side by side at the red light. For a dodge it was a nice truck. Bright red mono paint with some ground effects those 20" wheels and some more chrome pieces. This guy thought he was a hot rod. He fept looking over at me. Know I am never into those teenage games. I saw him look just below my "f-250 super duty" badge and read "Banks Power" Then His eyes followed further tot he front of the fender and read "Triton V10" As the light turned green he just moped down the road not wanting to challenge the tricked out V10. Now when you get one of those experiences,
The Official BSEG club membership will be authorized.

I get that even without the tricked-out part... in an '01! Haven't seen anyone even try to play ... lots of people look at the V10 badge ... same reaction... Lots of Dodge's around here too...
Guy's driving Fords, however, get that BSEG when they see the V10 badge...
Right on Boxcar, You might not be into teenage games but if that Ram would have tried you on for size I have a feeling you would have decided to burn a little extra gasoline just to help clean your injectors out. That's what I tell my wife. Could you feel a big difference wth your Banks Kit? Take care and good post. Wrench.
When you wind er' up, you can really feel the difference. I did get a nice MPG increase too. Depending on how I drive it, 1.5 to 2.5 MPG is average. I opted out of the banks chip for the mild tuning and went with a SCMT. In the performace setting it is a real kick in the pants. My gal one day when I gave her a moving definition of Horse Power, she asked the truck is faster than before. The BSEG welled up again. If you add up at the conservative HP increased form the headers and free flowing exhaust and the tuner, It is right up there with the 3V motors, but with some extra gitty up with the tranny tunning. I still get kicks on throwing this 7000# weight around on the road when a ricer thinks it is easy prey.
