I just purchased a lease return about a month ago. I knew the person who had it originaly. He ran Amsoil products through the whole truck from the time he purchased it(the person is an Amsoil dealer). Should I continue the same?? He said he could get me the products for cost.
Thanks In advance.
I personally think the MotorCraft stuff is good enough and cheap. But it really depends on what you like, cost, and if you trust the product.
I got no bone either way with Amsoil other to say that I laugh at their hyped up claims, and balk at any product that does not openly tell its price per quart up front.
I have been running Mobil I in the motor and trans in bought of my trucks with no problems and its a lot cheaper than Amsoil, plus you can buy it at a store. A little competition brings the price down. IMO Amsoil is way over priced.

Amsoil dealers ALWAYS tell EVERYONE they can get 'deals' on their products, or you can get 'dealer cost'. But like with any MLM scam it's always the goal to get as many people hooked up beneath you selling product that you then get a piece of. I always wonder why companies have to resort to sneaky, underhanded methods to sell, is it because that product wouldn't stand up to scrutiny ? Sometimes, usually always, and then there's always the 10 pages of info before you get to the last page where a price is listed. But what price ? Amsoil is big time spendy, it's mostly profit. Think about how many guys have to get paid in an MLM and still return a good margin to the manufacturer. Then, go to WalMart and buy some MotorCraft.
Stay away from Amsoil, most of their oils ARE NOT API certified!!!!! As Ken
said, the high price is because so many people are getting money in their
pocket, just the way a MLM works!!!
Matter of fact, stay away from any MLM company, check out these URLs:
stay away from it. just from my own. i had a amsoil dealer help sponser my race boat and drag bike. both motors failed and when torn down had major wear with low hours when compaired to other oils. i now use a major brand syntec and have never had a wear fail problem in both .use a major brand oil unless you have a deep pocket reserve. motorcraft . mobil one are choice #1. while good oils i also stay away from valveoline, qstate, penzoil or any thing else that pours out like water from the bottle
