Awesome! Best of luck with the racecar. Sounds like it will make for some good vid. I don't like hearing that Gregs electro cut outs busted though...I think we run the same brand.

I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure mine was operator induced failure of some sort. I think it failed the same night we lost the motor mount mount. It might have got tweaked when the motor was jumping around in the engine compartment :-)
Funny story: I once went to the local speed shop, a chain, and wanted to buy an MSD 6AL - the L is for rev-limiter. They only had 6A's... the guy behind the counter said "What do you want a rev-limiter for in a truck?" - I said, well, when I have my foot to the floor at 4500RPM and I drop a driveshaft, that rev-limiter's going to come in handy after I put $5K into my motor ... by the look on his face, he still couldn't get it. And I promptly turned around and walked out. Went to another local speed shop (not a chain) and got it for $50 less... and the guy behind the counter didn't look at me funny when we talked about what it was going into, except to say, he would never sell me one without a rev-limiter for what I was doing...
Funny how some guys just don't get it, huh? I run the msd-6al on the '73, with the 6200k plug in it. I just wish they'd make the offroad version with an integral limiter...
Well, got some video the other night. Now, if I can get it formatted correctly? I got an interior shot with me driving truck, but for some reason the sound is off now that I got it ready for sending?? Hmmmm, need to work on it a bit. Got a short clip of race car running in garage too. Will work on that too. Got to work on getting ready for Saturday races so next couple days are full. I'll try to get something Sunday.
Use Windows Movie maker to capture the video and use the default settings. It works well. That is how I do all my vids for the internet. The files aren't too big ethier. http://members.***.net/randy-barnett...s/truck_wa.wmv
This is 3megs.
Pretty cool Randy. Maybe I'll try that. I was trying to use the junk that came with camera, plus I had something else I bought years ago to convert VHS to CD. It's great for editing, but for some reason it starts moving the sound off and by the end of clip the sound is 5 sec. behind?
I'll give it a shot on Sunday, maybe I'll have something posted up by first of the week.
Seeing that I'll have the blower car out this weekend too....maybe I'll get a shot of it running too
Maybe I'll get them ALL out if the driveway running together....
That'll give the neighbors SOMETHING to complain about...
May 7th is my one truck show I go to each year down in Pataskala, Ohio. I wanted to be sure that you weren't coming on that Saturday. June 1-5th I'll be in Auburn, In for truck national convention. Just a couple heads up on what I have going on in near future.
Can you give me some info on the Auburn convention? Is is a show? That's only about 2 hours from me.
It's Jun 2-5th at Kruse Auction facility. Go to ATHS.org and there should be a page with information. It's open to ANY truck 25+ yrs old, big/small/rusty/shiny/push,pull,drag it in etc. If you plan on taking a truck and registering it, then it MUST stay on the show grounds til closing Saturday evening. No coming/going like a regular car show. Some people don't care for that rule, but it keeps accidents to a minimum. Just thought I would mention that....
BTW, I did get the video of the truck ready to email off today, but my computer at work won't do it?? Guess I'll try at home tonight...though it may take alllllll night . I did get the blower car out Sunday and washed up, so I'll see if I can get a video of it running too

Just let me know when you have the file, I'll put it up right away.

Train, don't you know that Auburn is supposed to be in Alabama, not Indiana? Oh well. I'd love to go but Indiana is a bit too far, kinda like you and the Turkey Rod Run in Daytona. Are there any good shows in the South?
Keep tabs on the show listing on website. They list most all the local chapter shows also. Most every state has a chapter(heck we have THREE in Ohio!)
The best part of these type of shows, is NO TROPHIES or awards(for the most part). Heck, the rustier or more used up trucks have better tales to tell! It's not about the shine.
