Dead Transmission Questions
So!! My 1997 F-350 7.3 PSD's Tranny died on me. How do I tell which tranny is in it? Would it be the E4OD or different? I have also heard not to have a dealership replacement put back in. Does anyone know who makes the best rebuild kit for transmissions. I am at a loss as to if I should have mine rebuilt or to go to my local Ford dealership. It kills me to see my truck just sit there in the driveway!!!

it is an E4OD. I wouldnt know why you wouldnt go to the dealership, They have the best nation wide warranty and at times it is more than 2/24. The reman trans at ford will have all the updates besides the warranty. They might be alittle more but usually know what theyre doing. If you werent so far away, I'd build it for you!!
