Exhaust Leak
I have discovered a small crack in the drivers side exhaust manifold and can hear the leak when I rev the engine. I have ordered a new manifold & misc parts to repair this. In a EFI engine (351), what effect would this condition have on the overall operation of the engine (other than the back-flow of cold air being hard on the valves).

Quick answer, the crack will increase (cast iron with heat does that). You will eventually burn the valves, which by the way, cost alot more to repair than a set of exhaust manifolds.
