i have a 96 250 van with 351w. has a.i.r pipe in the exaust manifolds (not in the head). what shorty headers should i buy that are going to give me the least amount of problems installing? without spending a ton of cash. the engine is only being installed in the van temporary so it can be used as a parts hauler (its getting a 460 and will be 4x4 later on when i have collected all the parts) i know bisanti headers are the best for the trucks. but to buy them for this truck is a waste of money. the vans take all the same parts as the pick ups. there are so many posts about headers i have know idea what ones to buy for the 351w with air in the manifolds and retain the factory y pipe. this truck has 4 o2 sensors just looking for headers that will hook up to everything and they have to be built for a 351w because 302 headers are not the same. people with a 95-95 truck or bronco with 5.8`s know what i`am talking about even if i have to weld some bungs fo o2`s thats no big deal mostly concerned with the air pipe problem i know there is headers that have this already installed or come with the parts to make them work.
You answered your own question, bassani headers....but just like you said they are pretty spendy just to use temporarily. I have the bassani's installed and are awsome...didnt have ONE problem but of course they are staying there!
I am not quite sure what other hearders out there have the EGR hookup, good luck...just search around im sure you can find something.
I had an F250 with the 351w and although I would have liked the bassanis, price did not allow for them. I was eyeing the Gibson headers - direct fit like the bassanis and 50 state smog legal.
