It sucks! I was shiftin into third gear and started to accelerate when I heard a snapping noise and my foot and pedal went STRAIGHT to the floor. It SUCKED!. So I had to go to the 24 hour Auto Zone and buy a NEW cable and replace it ALL on the side of the road. But hey at least I got to do SOME kinda work on a car.

 

A friend of mine had that happen to him in his LTD (II, maybe?). He just happened to have some chicken wire on hand, so he drove home--a couple hours--with his hand out the window pulling on his new accelerator "cable".
