Question carb questions

hey everyone. decided to put a holley 600cfm on my 390 with an adapter plate. my question is.... how do you work the gas pedal linkage. its way too short and wonderin if anyone had any ideas on extending it ora cheap replacement. autozone wants almost 50 bucks for a cable one. also the secondaries won't open up its a vacuum open but i only have one vacuum for it and they still don't open. so to sum it all up. if anyone has done this and built a linkage system that works and has pictures or directions they would be greatly appreciated. on a side note this thing screams compared to the autolite 2100 2bbl i had before

Go buy a peice of treaded rod if you have to and use the ball end off your present linkage? How do you know the secondaries aren't opening? On my 750 you can here a slightly louder moan when they open, but if they are opening on time you won't feel it. The only times I have felt them open on some engines is if the spring is to stiff and they open late. If your carb linkage isn't opening the primary far enough the secondaries may still be locked.
