Flipping rear axle...

I have a 1994 Ford Ranger XLT and I recently bought a flip/block kit that is supposed to lower it three inches. The only problem is that the block that sits on top of the axle is angled, so my question is.... which way do i face the block? Does the shorter end face the front and the longer end face the back or does the shorter end face the back and the longer end face the front? I know that this MIGHT be important since i did some research and found out about putting bind on the transmission unless it is pulled back. Also, is there any other way to get a three inch drop for the back that is easier? Thanks so much for the help in advance

Though I'm not 100% sure I'd put the larger part toward the rear, a 3" drop will change your pinion angle (less angle).

yeah that's what i thought.....so other than just the blocks and the u-bolts, is there any thing else that i might need to flip and drop the rear? (other than shocks). Thanks

I am not familiar with your truck, but often a flip will require a C-notch in the frame to keep the rear member from bumping the frame..

Hmmm.... I think 3" is the limit without having to "c" notch the frame, thou you might have to shorten the bump stop, your ride should level out pretty nice!

Thanks dag and dono for the info. No if I did all of my research right i think you can squeeze four inches of drop before you have to notch the frame. Anyways, thanks again for your time and i appreciate the compliment dag. Yeah i just wanted a mild drop to set my ranger apart from the hundreds of others in my area so i decided on a 2" coil drop for the front and a 3" flip drop on the back. I figured that should do it for now anyways. Thanks
