Try searching google. I was able to find the pics you are looking for some time ago. The truck I found had the tires on factory rims and a leveling kit. Unfortunately I dont have the info any more. I will keep looking though.
Jaytee04 - There must be some conspiracy. BFG is lying to us all as I took the specs from their documentation. Is it possible that your tires are worn or under inflated? Either way thanks for the valuable info.
285 X .65 = 185.25mm sidewall height = 7.29 inches
2 sidewalls (7.29 X 2) = 14.58 + 18 inch rim = 32.58 inch tire.
The manufacturer has a 4-8% error rating depending on brand. Some 285/65/18 could be 33 inches and some could be 32 or anywhere in between. There are some tires that measure 36.2 inches but are branded 37s. It is all legit. Air pressure makes a big difference in height as well as in MPG. That same tire you measured on your truck would measure taller on my Jeep due to weight sitting on the tire. The .5 inch of discrepancy is less than 2% error. Tough to be that accurate with a mounted tire and a tape measure.
hey you guys! i know yall thank i am annoying but i promise my tires were 32.3 inches tall. I ordered these tires thinking they were going to be approx 33 but they weren't... but they were close enough like yall said. After i got them mounted and put on i measured them. But i rolled a brand new 33" in. up next to mine and my tire was "domed" higher in the middle. So then i measured up and level to the very tip top of the tire yesterday, and it was 32.8. So the deal is it measures up to about a 32.3 from the ground to the very top of the sidewall...but when you measure up above the sidewall right where the tire domes at the top, it measures to a 32.8. So..... it is close enough, right? Sorry it was my mistake.
Either way you guys, if i could do it over again, i would get the 33" in. tire because they just look sooooo much wider than my tire. I know it is only a inch but that inch does make it look alot wider. But these tires are very nice and the good thing is they dont put hardly any strain on my engine when i floor it.... but i do have the hypertech power programmer so that also helps out.
