heavy-duty front end

Every time I need a part, they always ask me if I have the heavy-duty front end. Hell if I know... Sticker says GVW 9000, so I don't think it does. Spring code of SF. Anyway, what is the heavy-duty front end, how do you know if you have it, and is there any difference in that and the "snow plow package"?
