Question threading wires through the doorpost...

in the process of dismantling a donor (77F100) truck, i have encountered a sticky situation with wiring to a rear window electric defroster circuit. my truck is a 79F250 (351M/C6/AC/dualtanks/4"lift) with a slider rear window i prefer to be without, and i sorta like the defroster. the wire plugged into the main bundle under the dash and went into the doorpost up and over the door, then down into the left rear corner of the cab behind the shoulder strap brace and back up behind the strap reel to plug into the window connection. the heater circuit is printed onto the window and has a lead on the passenger side to attach to the cab for ground. i know this seems like something a mechanical person should know, but what is the best way (if there is a best way) to fish this wire up the doorpost and/or down the corner cavity?? i know these defroster windows arent so common, but there has gotta be someone that has experienced this dilemna... please comment on any suggestion or favorite wiring tricks. thanks-
