On Ebay right now there is a guy selling 4 brand new V10 blocks. Just blocks, no cranks heads or anything. Right now they are at about $100 plus shipping. Has anyone thought about building a V10 for either an older car or truck or to replace their current V10?
The aftermarket has squat for the V10. But Rods and pistons are available. Heads from a junk yard or through Ford could be ported. People are doing some incredible things right now with 4.6L's and 5.4L's. A billit crank and some Manley rods with forged pistons and Comp Cams would be pretty stout and fun to play with. Perfect blower motor. Sure wish the aftermarket would get on board with the V10.
We all have been hoping for more hi-po parts.I would think that the 5.4 stuff would work, rods, pistons.Crower said they can custom build some cams for like 1500 a pc.I would like to have a 6.8 with good pistons, good rods, cam upgrade, ported heads+intake with a Whipple tuned by one of the custom tuners utilizing the Superchip custom tuner.

I think the block is pretty much the same 97-2005 with the heads being upgraded in 2000 and then again in 2005 to 3 valves. The V-10 crank is a very strange looking animal, I can't imagine anyone offering one for sale, but we can hope. 5.4 pistons and rods of course go right in and there are a couple guys regrinding stock cams for better profiles. You'd have to hand port the heads though or go with Extrude-hone, there is no-one with V-10 high pro heads or manifolds for that matter. I'd love to see a built bottom end and one of the twin turbo gen-set kits on one of these bad boys. I think 1,000 hp and 850-900 ft lbs of torque is a fair number. 6-7 pounds of boost would keep your engine alive for a long time while giving big hp and pretty decent torque numbers.
