While setting my idle speed, I notice my tach go from 800 rpm to like 1200rpm for just an instant. The motor kinda stumbles (very slight) but not longer than 1/2 second. It seems to happen every 10seconds or so. I have new plug wires from Ford and new plugs, this is happening on a 302HO crate w/ 10K miles. I dosen't seem like a big problem, just annoying that I haven't been able to get a rock steady idle since I installed this engine.
10K on the following:
95 302HO,
B (?) 303 roller cam, (came with motor),
Hi-Pro Coil,
MSD 6al,
AFB,
New wires,
New plugs,
new cap and rotor.
Could I have a coil problem?
or crappy fuel mix?
Moe, Look down in the carb and see if you are getting `droplets of fuel` comming out of the Main jet/venturi area in the carb. In absence of that you may have a vacuum leak/loose hose connection.
