My F-250 Supercab is sitting 4" higher on 1 ton F-350 suspension. My next project is to change out the Borg Warner 1356 chaindrive transfer case with a heavier gear drive, two- speed transfer case, maybe the New Process 205. My transmission is the ZF 5-speed behind a fuel injected 460. The front axle is the Dana 60 monobeam. I would need a list of required parts to make the swap. My aim is to install a bulletproof transfer case in my Ford farm truck. Thanks!
Well the NP-205 should bolt right up... Because Ford did a beautiful thing and had ALL there Xfer Case have 31-spline input shafts!!
Though I am not entirely familiar with the ZF5 or the BW-1356xfer.. I do know that with the Ford C-6 automatic you had 2 different lenght tailshafts. Most Broncos and Short (6ft) F-150's had a 5 inch tail shaft, and hence a 5 inch spacer/adapter.
The F150 (8ft), F250 and F-350 used a C-6 with an 8 inch spacer/adapter.
I recently installed a NP-205 on my 1984 Bronco, I have a 460 (450 horses)in it. I just had the Case rebuilt stock...
The NP-205 is the strongest xfer case I have seen!
Uzi... Yamaha Sleds, Honda Bikes, and Ford Trucks....
