I am planning a trip pulling my 6000# RV and would like some advice on towing with PSD 04 6.0 cc and turbo shift transmission with tow haul feature. I now have 10500 miles on the truck and the trip this week end will be to Houston (225 miles) all flat land but intend to make a trip to Yellowstone National park in May which will include some moutains. Any help appreciated.

On flat ground you probably won't need the towhaul feature. I pull a 7500 lb Airstream and get the best mpg (about 14.7) at 70mph without towhaul engaged. Towhaul is great however for pulling in hill country. No doubt the 6.0 is one pulling fool!
Thanks for the info. Since I posted this thread I have learned how to use the search feature on this site and entered towing and found a lot of the info I was looking for. Have not read it all but will continue as I have time and will still appreciate any posted here.

Some may say you won't need the t/h until you are going downhill. And this works real slick. You certainly won't need it on the flats. Others may like it going uphill, which it just changes your shiftpoints. So, try both and see which method you like best. Of course using it uphill will lower your mpg's.
Thanks huntercgr, will get a chance to try out all methods as my trip to Yellowstone will be extended on to your part of the country, NE Oregon(Halfway) where will meet brother-in-law who is spending the next 6 weeks there turkey hunting. So this trip stating in Southcenteral Lousiana should give me all the experience of the upland and flatland towing.
