Loose 89 BII steering
How do you remove the play in steering sector shaft of my 89 auto BII? I have some play in the steering sector shaft above the top universal joint. The top universal joint is tight & the bolt above connecting the steering sector shaft to the steering shaft is tight. The pictures from diagram 85558059 in Chiltons is unclear. Are there any other joints above that that are bolted or pinned together that could be loose ?Or is it one solid shaft from the connection above the upper U joint to the steering wheel. How is the best way to get to them?

well im not sure about the bolt tightening if you have a loose steering shaft, but I had play in my steering for a bit, and then my power steering pump went out, so I replaced it and now the steering in back to original feel. which by the way is way over boosted. As regards to the shaft, I have a shop manual for my 84, im not sure if there is a difference in the steering system from 84 to 89 but I will look for you.
