Wiz needs input!
Hi guys i just picked up a 48 flathead V8 (heads say 59AB). I have a 31 model A frame that i'm planning to put it in with a 33 P/U cab. What im looking for are any recomendations you all have on books and such so i can learn more, rebuild and do a few performance tricks to it as well.

I have a couple of books that I would recommend
The Complete Ford Flathead V8 by Tex Smith
A good explanation of the different models through the years, What to look for when buying, rebuilding and tuning flatheads
Flathead Fever by Mike Davidson
This takes the more technical approach to tuning flatheads including flowbench and dyno results
Both books are well written with good pictures and diagrams
Check out www.redsheaders.com and www.vanpeltsales.com/FH_web/flathead_home.htm both sites have really good technical info

Also be careful when ordering parts for a '48 flathead. Make sure you always designate its a 48 car flathead or a 59AB. Trucks in '48 began using the 8RT/8BA.
It's a cross-over year that will cause you a few headaches if you're unaware.
