My door panel is cracked around one of the screws on the driver's side. I bought one of the $25 replacement pull handles on the internet after reading that it was a fairly easy fix. One is supposed to be able to grind down the melted plastic tabs and remove the pull handle from the door panel. However, mine were melted so much that they are fused together. I don't want to put too much force into it for fear of breaking the door panel.
Has anyone dealt with this before? Any suggestions on separating two fused pieces of plastic? I thought maybe I could wedge a hacksaw blade down into the groove, but I don't know if there would be enough left to hold on to.
