hey, my friend has a maxima and him and a bunch of his buddies use this engine cleaner called Seafoam. i checked out the website and they make it for diesels and i was just wondering if anyone has had any experiences good/bad with it. i was thinking about using it but im kind of skeptical. thanks for the advice.
i haven't used it, but let me know if you do... there's a couple of spots under the hood of my mule that need some cleaning... i'm waiting for the end of mud season...!
I think Sasfoam goes in not on the engine. If you read the can it claims to be good for about any trouble you may have. It mat help some but may be more snake oil than wonder additive like it claims.
I use it in all of my outboard engines. When I started it I mixed it a little heavy to help get rid of the carbon build up then cut it down to the right ratio for every tank use. It really helped the smoke problem of the two-stroke engines. Really don't know how it would work in the diesel but for gassers it is great. Napa carries it.
I've used it for years on outboards and small engines, and it does clean out the fuel line build up and carbon great.
I use nothing but Stanadyne on my Diesels. Its a little pricey, but I feel its the best out of all the ones that I've tried
