Let's hear it!

Just wondering how many miles you guys put on your PSDs over the course of a week on average. This only applies to PSD owners who use their trucks as daily drivers though. How much of it is highway/around town? Thanks for the input!

i run my 02 F350 psd 100 miles round trip to work (highway), 4 days a week, plus around town and highway driving the other days. I average around 500-600 miles a week... i think the saying on these 7.3's is true... the more you run 'em, the better they run....

Currently, I put about 400 miles a week on mine driving back and forth to work, and anyplace else I need to go. I'm in the process of transferring to another position within the company, and that will involve a much longer commute, so I'll be putting on an additional 200-250 miles a week.
Everywhere I go, its in the truck. We bought my wife a new car in 2000, and she's only got 40,000 miles on it, because she only drives it when she's going somewhere alone. I've only driven it down the driveway to wash it, and to put it back in the garage.

i haven't driven my wife's car more than 50 miles since i bought my 02 blue mule almost a year ago...! anytime we go anywhere it's in my truck. she doesn't even ask which vehicle we are taking anymore...!

See Johnny8, I like getting out of my truck. It's got tinted windows so nobody knows who's behind the wheel until I get out! It's always good when there's a nice little blonde walking by when I open the door, but that never happens. Unlucky you might say.

don't worry man, there are more women who listen to country music than any other kind of music, maybe not at your school, but trust me it's true. and, there are more women who like guys who drive trucks than women who like little sports cars. trust me, when you find a girl who likes your truck, you'll have found a girl that's worth spending time with... my wife loves my truck because it pulls our camper wherever she wants to go, and on the way there, she is ridin' in style...!

Nah man I'm not worried about that at all. It's all good for now. This way I have time for my buddies and my toys (truck and snowmobile). By the time I look into changing my status, I might have a bigger truck!

dd,

you got it man, plenty of time for that later...! by the way, if you tow a couple of sleds with your mule, you won't even know they are behind you...! i used to tow our old camper, 26' that weighed 6k, and i could set the cruise on 72 going up the highway in overdrive, my mule wouldn't even downshift on the hills...! try doing that with anything less than a V10 gasser...!

I drive mine 3-600 miles a week. I've traveled 8413.8 miles since purchased. The truck had 80900 miles at my last fuel stop. My total fuel cost has been $1330.18 and the average cost per gallon I've paid for all 580.903 gallons is $2.282. That breaks down to 14.484 MPg and $.15810 per mile.

It pays to keep a log on everything

When I was working for the Railroad it was 120 a day, 6 days a week, thats 720 a week. and at 15 MPG on the freeway it didn't last long so I gots a work beeter tempo, and now I work 1.5 miles from home, so with the morning doughnut, and driving to lunch its about 8 miles a day. Who wouldn't love only having to drive 8 miles in a day. if I go to the GF's twice a week that adds another 160 miles so its prolly close to 200 a week now, alot better then the 700+, and I have weekends off now too.

Yea I love my truck but I love looking at in the driveway almost more then I love being in it.

ohh yea, and the tempo went bye bye as soon as it could, the PSD always tried to drive over it when I was sleeping, I think it got jealous.

Oh I'm sure my 7.3 will tow that 6000lb sled trailer like nothing. My father thinks different. I guess the proof is in the pudding (hope he likes pudding).

I drive 100 miles round trip every day for work ~500mi/wk just for work, highway miles pretty much all the way. I thoroughly enjoy driving my truck, but I'm not real exciting about racking up the miles like I do.

I get a ride to work with my foreman quite often - so I only put about 5-600 miles on my truck a month - if that. Wish I could afford to drive it every day - but with the price of fuel - I take any free ride I can get!!!
