Hey, I recently purchased a '99 Ranger with the 3.0 engine and I didn't notice before I bought it that the lower part of the engine is all rusty. Is this the result of flood damage do you think?

It looks like I'm in for a lot of trouble with this truck now...arg!

Probably salt spray from road salt. A flooded engine won't rust any quicker than one in a place with lots of rain, unless the water got inside the engine.

This thing just looks like it's been living under water for a while, scaling rust seems weird. Maybe Ranger's let in more road salt than I'm used to seeing.

I doubt its a flood vehicle, it looks almost like it could a truck that was used around salt water a lot...
