'97 F150 about 115,000 miles on it. Got a check engine light and had the code pulled. (P0304) misfire on 4. So I pulled spark plug 4 and it is COVERED in oil half way down the plug to the bottom of the threads. If it makes a difference where the actual "spark" takes places was not covered with oil and actually doesn't look bad. The vehicle runs really rough the first 2-4 miles but then seems to even out and runs normal.
Anyway I'm going to change the spark plug (again just FYI I changed all the plugs, wires and coil packs about 18 months ago so these are fairly new) But I'm looking for opinions as to what is causing it before I take to shop. (Like to have some knowledge before I take in and they start telling me crazy stuff) Thanks for any help.
