tuner questions

i've been doing some research on purchasing a diablo tuner, but i have a few questions before i finalize it.

i have a 2004 f150 supercrew 5.4L 3.55LS

edit: truck is all stock and will be that way for a while. at most i will only add exhaust and intake.

1. when i buy the tuner, does it come already tuned or will i need to have it custom tuned?
2. i will be towing a 5,000 lbs. boat during the summer (about 10 times), does it come with a towing option? i read on this board that diablo does not recommend to use the towing option with anything over 4,000 lbs (thread is titled "towing power how do i get it???."
3. with the rising gas prices, how much performance gain will i get with 87 octane over stock?
4. would i be better off with superchips?
5. i never done any custom tuning, how hard will it be for me to adjust the settings myself without hurting the engine?

thanks in advance

1. It comes tuned. Intakes and exhausts don't require custom tuning.
2. The Predator supports premium fuel tuning for power. You can adjust the ignition timing (very easy) and transmission firmness (also very easy) for towning.
3. Very little. Typically you'll gain enough mileage with the premium tuning to make up for the difference, provided you don't have a lead foot.
4. Define "better off". The Predator has more features than any handheld tuner, bar none.
5. Its extremely easy.
