howdy yall, just out of curiosity: i have a 96psd with a banks quick boost turbo, lets say i wanna up the ante and make it a twin turbo, would i need to get a waste gate, or 2, and i keep hearing about a napa air filter conversion, is it like the tymar, also, what brand of gauges do you have and where that a pain to wire
Unless you have some real $$ to burn..I think a chip would be your best bet to "up the ante" (200 ft/lbs) The Napa air filter conversion is you just take off the old stock air box and bolt on this HUGE filter (filter number is 6637 at Napa) and I got mine for about $35. This will make your turbo scream even more. I have Autometer gauges and I like them a lot. They aren't too bad to wire..you just need some patience and time. There are a lot of step by step installation guides online that will help you a lot.
Unless your running large injectors the only thing twin turbo's will do is slow downthe spool time. If ya really want to up the ANTE. get ahold of either Bean's or Swamp's and have them get ya a set of bigger injectors. That will really make a big difference. As for the napa filter conversion, its the same basic design as the Tymar.(same filter). I got VDO gauges and like them. Get the guages before ya get to crazy !!!! good luck.
Then you need injectors. Twin turbos will give you more air, what you need is more fuel. Having your chip reprogrammed for the new injectors will help you wake the truck up nicely.
