91 4.0 ohv knock
How many other 4.0 ohv engines have a knock on acceleration. The truck runs great. I put a new timing chain in and changed the intake gaskets. The MAF has also been cleaned. It does not sound like a lifter tick but a backround knocking sound.
Need ideas on how you fixed yours.

Would you classify it as spark knock? Spark knock under load is fairly common to these engines. Two main causes: carbon buildup in the cylinders or an engine that is running slightly lean. Two main causes for it to run slightly lean: a dirty MAF and a leaking lower intake manifold gasket (often can be fixed by simply tightening the bolts).
