there was a gentleman that had explained to me that there was only high boys in the 70's, but wanted to see a picture of the welded item to frame that looked like a factory weld, I am new to the 4x4 stuff, but not an idiot when it comes to getting my hands dirty, just need a nudge in the right direction, I have uploaded some pictures under a 'album' called "88 F150 xlt lariat" there is the picture of the weld.
Just looking at the contrast between the condition of the frame & other components and the obviously new look to the support you are referring to, it looks added on, and someone has an excellent hand with a torch, factory or not. Did you clean it up to make a clearer picture? A true hi-boy had a different drive train setup than a standard 4x4.
I did do some clean up, I have a habit of doing this to the trucks I have so I can better understand what I am getting myself into...this truck was a one owner truck, gentleman lived in portland and now is deceased, son had it in spokane, and I bought the truck from a used car lot, so how do tell what this is???and what is it??
