I was at a Ford dealership today that I had never been to before and they had a 1993 F-150 XLT, Short Box, 4x4 w/ manual hubs, and a 5.0 V8, 5-speed. It has 150,000 miles on it, but I took it for a test drive and it drove pretty well.
The only questions I have are what do some of your guys trucks read for oil pressure? After I got this one warmed up, it only read between the middle of N and the top of O in <st1:city><st1 ="">normal</st1>l</st1:city><st1:city></st1:city>. Also, have any of you needed to adjust/replace the synchronizers in a 5-speed? The reason I ask is that during shifts, the transitions between the gears seemed a rougher than any other 5-speeds I have driven?<o =""></o>
<o =""></o>Any other information about things I should look out for from people would also be appreciated.
What the hell.. the dealer probably wont know that about the oil pressure; so use it to your advantage. Tell him it should read in the center so the engine is showing signs of wear. And since its real expensive to change it in a 4x4 have him knock off another few hundred...
hehehe
