I want to try to replace the door lock actuator on my 01 psd supercab passenger side door. Can anyone tell me how to remove the inner door panel. I seen where a guy tried it once (not on a superduty) and actually cracked the inner door panel. I sure dont want that to happen. Do I need any special tools. I think that it is probably secured with little plastic fasteners that I refer to as "chrismas trees". Do I need to replace anything once I remove the inner panel?
Thanks in advance
Laudy
It's been a while since I removed mine (02 F250), but I think it's just removing 2 screws and disconnecting the wiring harnesses. One screw is behind the lens in the door and the other is under the panel that has pw and pdl controls. Just pull that piece straight up and you can unhook the wiring harnesses and see the screw. Once the 2 screws are out, just pull straight up on the panel and it should come off.
Remove the Red reflector lens with a small flat screwdriver to access the first door screw.
Then remove the door switch panel by gently prying up with your fingers or screwdriver. The
rear doors you pry in the middle, the front doors you pry towards the front. Unplug the wire
harnesses and lay the panel aside. Now just simply lift up and over the door lock. You'll also
need to pull the black beauty trim off that covers the side mirror bolts to get the front door
