Programming Keyless FOB Older Sable/Taurus

I posted the other day about info on older Sho and Sable. Ended up getting a steal deal on the Sable and picked it up.

I got an extra FOB out of the deal, but the dealer wouldn't programm for me. Any help out there on a later model car (1994 Sable). The OM says to take to the dealer ................ $$$

There is a thread in the Explorer Forum and I tried that already.

Thanks in advance and this is a great place for FMC info!

Mike

Try turning the ignition on and off 8-10 times. At some point the doors should lock and unlock. When that happens, push any button on each remote, doors should again lock and unlock. The second lock/unlock sequence indicates that the remotes are now programmed to your car.

On my '94 Mustang, theres a black box on the drivers side, in the trunk..you gotta get behind the carpeting..anyway, coming off this black box is a grey plug with 2 prongs in it, like a plug for a speaker or something...with the ign. in the "on" position, I had to stick a screwdriver in that plug to jump the two prongs..this activated my door locks (you'd hear them lock or unlock.) take the screwdriver out, hit the lock button, and hold it down for a sec or two.

turn the key off, and see if it worked.

Works on that years' Mustangs...good luck.

Similar to the way it works with my '94 Taurus SHO, and as I understand the way I did it applies to all '89-'95 SHOs w/remote keyless entry...

P.S. I heard the plug can be gray or black, and on my Taurus I found it in the trunk on the driver's side behind the carpet lining. I even had a pic I'll post if I can find it.

P.S.S. I actually have the Taurus SHO remote programming stuff hosted from before, here are the relevant links. HTH:
