we just got our 2006 sales brochures in today. found something very
interesting. the mustang will be offered in a all wheel drive option.
this car looks very cool. the awd only comes with the 4.6 though.
5.4 would be much better. cant wait to see this in september.
Yeah, I saw the AWD option, but who cares? The new Brougham D' Elegance Package with the simulated convertible top; now THAT'S something that will get Mustang sales going! I'm sick of these '05 Mustangs sitting on the lot, collecting dust!

AWD option
I may be missing the point, but the Mustang is a muscle car, not a rally car...
I'm sick of these '05 Mustangs sitting on the lot, collecting dust! Jeff, I assume that was sarcasm (well the Brougham D' Elegance Package kinda gave it away)
Its a Pony car. And there is nothing wrong with "offering" AWD. By the way this is April 1st...i'll beware. By the way...Chevrolet is bringing the Chevelle back
Why do you think Ford built too many V-6 2005 Mustangs and not enough GT's for the demand? CAFE? At least that seems to be the case in the SoCal market. Also, dealers in this region want full sticker for the V-6's that are piling up.
As a side note, I think I will be waiting for the 2007, because I want a V-6, but dont particularly like the 4.0 that I drove. The thing did not want to rev. It is supposed to be replaced by a new 3.5 Duratec DOHC all-aluminum one with variable valve timing, a much more "sporty" car engine instead of the current Cologne-built truck engine.

That's interesting stuff Jim, I hadn't heard that until now. What I've been hearing is that the 3.5L Duratec will make its way into the Five Hundred. It will be very interesting if it goes into both vehicles, to say the least. I suspect a lot of Five Hundred owners will be scrambling to figure out which aftermarket parts will cross over from the RWD Mustang to the FWD (or AWD) Five Hundred.
Here's a few notes on the 3.5L Duratec from an older Press Release:
The new engine, which features variable-valve timing to boost fuel economy, also has the distinction of being globally sourced. Its die-cast blocks will be supplied by a new Teksid operation in Alabama. Linda Miller, Ford's manufacturing director-powertrain operations, says Duratec 35's heads will come from Nemak in Mexico, and its crankshafts will be supplied by India's Bharat Forge.
Bharat Forge supplies castings to Ford of Europe, but Duratec 35 marks its first foray into the auto maker's North American manufacturing network.
Lima will join the ranks of Ford's flexible manufacturing plants with the installation of CNC lines to machine the new engine's head and crankshaft; its block machining will use a state-of-the-art transfer line...

how many are GT's?? you cant even find a 05 mustang GT around here on a lot, and if you do find one its not on there very long at all. plus i been seeing that all car sales are down right now accross the board. its the gas prices starting it all and the economy is going to slow down again eventually also. if something is not done about the gas prices we are going to be in a world of hurt.
